A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family of an Irishman who died while saving his son in Australia.
Cassan Cowman, who was originally from Cork, drowned last Sunday after slipping into water rapids during a family day out at Wappa Falls in Queensland.
The 49-year-old father of three failed to surface after pushing his son to safety - his body was discovered later that evening.
In the tribute to Cassan, he's described as a charasmatic and devoted dad to his children.
“Ormond, Ella and Torin were the apple of Cass’ eye and like any parent he wanted the best for their futures,” the fundraiser page reads.
More than €6,000 has so far been raised through the GoFundMe page, which was set up by a family friend to help with his children's education.
