Four men accused of falsely imprisoning and seriously hurting an executive of Quinn Industrial Holdings have gone on trial after pleading NOT guilty to all charges today.
51-year-old Kevin Lunney claims he was bundled into the back of a car and driven to another location where he was beaten up and doused in bleach.
On his way home from work on September 17th, 2019, the father-of-six says he was bundled into the back of a car by two masked men.
It is the prosecution’s case that he was then taken to a container on the land of one of the accused, where he was told to resign his position at Quinn Industrial Holdings
He claims he was stripped and subjected to a beating, which involved being struck with something that broke his leg and being marked with a Stanley knife.
In an effort to conceal their tracks, the prosecution says he was then doused in bleach before being dumped in a ditch by the side of a road in Co Cavan.
Darren Redmond and Alan O’Brien, who are both from East Wall in Dublin 3, Luke O’Reilly of Mullahoran Lower, Kilcogy, Co Cavan and a fourth man who can’t be identified have pleaded NOT guilty to falsely imprisoning Mr Lunney and causing him serious harm.
