Four Irish siblings thought to remain in custody in Cairo

The Department of Foreign Affairs says it hasn't been able to confirm whether the four Irish citizens being held in Egypt have appeared in court.

It was reported earlier that the Halawa siblings were due to appear before prosecutors this afternoon - amid hopes that they could be released afterwards.

However it hasn't been confirmed whether the court proceedings have actually taken place - and there's no word on when the family could be free to travel home.
