The former CEO of the Central Remedial Clinic WILL take questions from TDs after all.
Brian Conlan has agreed to attend the Public Accounts Committee to take questions from public representatives.
Earlier the committee agreed to use its legal powers to force Mr Conlan to attend anyway, if he did not voluntarily do so.
The committee's chairman John McGuinness says Mr Conlan will now take questions from TDs at a hearing in the New Year.
He says the committee needs to hear from all the relevant parties in order to get to the bottom of the CRC's financial arrangements:
