The final Ford Fiesta will roll off the production line today.
After 47 years of production, one of the world's most popular cars will be no more as it makes way for a new electric replacement.
Figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry, show 42,791 Ford Fiestas have been sold in Ireland since 2007.
The Fiesta was ranked in the top 5 best-selling cars in Ireland in 2009, 2010, 2013 and 2014.
It appeared in the top 10 every year from 2009 to 2018.
The car made its debut in Europe in 1976 and more than 22 million have been produced globally since then.
Its launch coincided with a growing demand for smaller cars amid rising fuel prices following the 1973 oil crisis.
The final examples will emerge from Ford's factory in Cologne in Germany today.
The last two Fiestas off the line are going to be kept by the company.
