A Chinese tourist has died in France, which is the first death from Covid-19 in Europe.
The victim was an 80-year-old woman from China's Hubei province, according to French Health Minister Agnès Buzyn.
She arrived in France on 16th January and was placed in quarantine in hospital on 25 January, she said.
Only three deaths had previously been reported outside mainland China - in Hong Kong, the Philippines and Japan.
It comes as authorities in China insist the number of people diagnosed with the new form of coronavirus is dropping each day.
The number of people who have died in China because of coronavirus has now reached more than 1,500.
143 deaths were confirmed this morning - with an investigation now underway into how the disease is spreading.
Meanwhile, the US is sending an aircraft to Japan to bring home American passengers from a cruise ship which has been quarantined there.
