Irish filmmaker Simon Fitzmaurice has passed away.
The Greystones native was diagnosed with Motor Neuron disease in 2008.
His wife Ruth Fitzmaurice recently published the best selling book, 'I Found My Tribe', about how their family tried to cope with the diagnosis.
The couple has 5 children. On the day Simon was diagnosed with MND, Mrs Fitzmaurice found out she was pregnant with their third child.
The couple then surpassed medics' expectations and became pregnant with twins.
