Micheál Martin has said he would go into a coalition with Fine Gael.
The Fianna Fáil leader was speaking to RTÉ after a day of policy discussions between the two parties yesterday.
Fianna Fáil wants to enter government and the party leader Micheál Martin confirmed that this morning - saying he would enter a coalition with Fine Gael.
It's confirming the realpolitik of the situation - that to form the government Martin wants to lead, he needs Fine Gael.
But Leo Varadkar has previously said Fine Gael wants to enter opposition.
That doesn't appear to have changed since yesterday's meeting.
Both parliamentary parties meet later ahead of the second sitting of this Dáil.
