Fianna Fáil Launches Bill To End 'Dynamic Pricing'
A law is being drafted to protect customers from rip-off ticket prices - as Oasis is being accused of 'scalping' people on ticket prices.
Fianna Fáil has published an amendment to the Sale of Tickets Act today, after dynamic pricing was used during the sale of Oasis tickets.
It also says stadiums like Croke Park shouldn’t allow their venues to be used if bands are going to charge huge prices.
Last night Oasis said in a statement that the band's promoter and management made the decision about deploying 'dynamic pricing' which saw standard standing tickets rising to €415.
Fianna Fail Senator Timmy Dooley believes Oasis have been unfair to their fans.
"Oasis are the creators of the event.
"They're the creators of the material, and that's what's on sale.
"The fact that they're using various different channels to sell to the market, I don't think that the blame could lie there.
"It'll have to be done with the express permission of the band, and so I do think they're scalping the Irish people on this one."
