Dean Fitzpatrick's biological father says he thought David Mahon would get a longer sentence for killing his son.

Mahon was jailed for seven years today, for stabbing his stepson to death outside his apartment in north Dublin in May 2013.

He had claimed Dean Fitzpatrick had walked onto the knife and suggested he may have wanted to.

The 45-year-old is married to Dean’s mother Audrey whose daughter Amy went missing in Spain while they were living there in 2008.
