The FAI has been fined €20,000 by UEFA after the women's team sang a song which referenced the IRA.

It happened while they were celebrating their World Cup play-off victory over Scotland at Hampden Park in October.

European football's governing body ruled it was a "violation of the basic rules of decent conduct".

The FAI apologised at the time.

In an interview with Sky Sports the following day, defender Chloe Mustaki said it was a "lapse in judgement," and apologised.

Chloe continued by saying the players "absolutely didn't mean to cause any hurt on our end."

However, when asked if it meant there was a need for education, Chloe denied it did.

The FAI has today accepted the fine and says players and staff have been and will continue to be reminded of their responsibilities.
