An exit poll has indicated a strong showing for the Green Party in the European elections.
Polls closed across the country at 10pm in the local and European elections, as well as the divorce referendum and three plebiscites on directly elected mayors.
A RedC exit poll for RTÉ and TG4 shows the Green Party's Ciaran Cuffe is set to top the poll in Dublin for the European elections, while they're in contention for seats in the other two constituencies.
Fine Gael's Seán Kelly and Mairead McGuinness are set to top the European poll in the South and Midlands-Northwest respectively.
However, the poll indicates there'll be a close race for the remaining seats in all constituencies.

Fine Gael could take two seats in Midlands-Northwest, with a serious battle between that party's Maria Walsh and current independent MEP Luke 'Ming' Flanagan.
Meanwhile, the divorce referendum is set to pass by an overwhelming majority of 87 per cent.
Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are shown in the lead in the local elections at 23 per cent each, and the poll again shows strong support for the Green Party at 9 per cent.
The poll, which involved 3,230 voters around the country, has a margin of error of 4 per cent.
