A European arrest warrant has been issued for Gerry "The Monk" Hutch.
He’s wanted for questioning here about the murder of David Byrne at the hotel five years ago.
Two other men were injured during the indicent which took place at a boxing weigh-in.
Nobody has ever been convicted for the Regency attack – Patrick Hutch – Gerry’s nephew and Gary’s brother went on trial but it collapsed following the tragic death of the lead detective in the case.
Gardai have long believed the attack was carried out by the Hutch gang in retaliation for the murder of Gary Hutch in Spain in 2015.
Gary Hutch was the nephew of Gerry the Monk Hutch and now gardai want to charge him with murder in relation to the Regency shooting
Gardaí have also issued an alert on the Schengen system.
This warning is being put out to inform other European authorities that Mr Hutch is wanted in Ireland.
Crime journalist Paul Williams says it's his understanding that Hutch could be arrested "within hours or even a couple of days" as authorities have a good idea of where he is now based in Europe.
