The Taoiseach says new EU agreements on gas prices won't immediately lower Irish bills.
Micheál Martin says the agreement was welcome and should prevent spikes in gas prices.
Leaders agreed to a temporary cap on gas prices if they began excessively rising, but subject to a number of conditions to ensure security of supply.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin says there won't be an immediate reduction in bills in Ireland;
"Well we import our gas from the United Kingdom. Our prices are lower than other places in Europe so there may not be an immediate impact.
Other than to say any stabilisation of the gas market will benefit us, that's the general point."
