Any additional electricity credit will not go far enough to help struggling households, according to the Rural Independent Group.
It has been raising the issue of spiraling energy costs in the Dáil this morning.
Households can expect more electricity credits in next week's budget.
There was one announced earlier this year, which was given at the start of the summer and was worth €200 for households.
It's unknown the value of any future credits.
Energy companies have announced multiple price rises in the past couple of months which is adding to the cost of living and pressure on families.
Independent TD Carol Nolan, says this will not go far enough:
"We don't want tokenistic measures of €200 thrown at people.
"We need urgent and meaningful actions from the Government."
