Emmanuel Macron insists 'no one will be left by the wayside', after becoming the first French president in 20 years to win a second term.
He comfortably beat far-right challenger Marine Le Pen, with just over 58 percent of the vote.
However Le Pen says her strong vote still represents a victory.
The Taoiseach is among those congratulating Macron on the win.
Micheál Martin says he looks forward to working closely with him in the coming years .
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's also passed on his congratulations calling a 'true friend.'
