Emma Mhic Mhathuna's being remembered this weekend.
A number of events are taking place to honour the cervical cancer campaigner.
The family of Ms. Mhic Mhathuna is remembering her, a year on since she passed away from cervical cancer on the 7th of October last year.
The mother of five was one of the 221 women affected by the CervicalCheck scandal.
Private prayers and a blessing have taken place in her home in West Kerry and her family placed flowers at Ballydavid Pier yesterday.
Her husband, Colin Mac Mhathuna has thanked the people of West Kerry, as well as the schools and sports clubs, for being so kind and gentle in helping them through a very challenging year since Emma tragically passed away.
