The entrepreneur confirmed the $44 billion deal, after first saying he would buy the social media platform back in April.
Musk was given until today to close the deal to avoid going to trial, after Twitter sued him for trying to rip up his original offer.
His very first move was to fire Twitter's top leadership, including the CEO and CFO, after he accused them of misleading him over the number of spam accounts on the site.
