Police in Paris say an electrical short-circuit was the most likely cause of the Notre Dame fire.
Hundreds of millions of Euro has already been pledged for the restoration, following the blaze on Monday evening.
Firefighters say the 12th Century building came within "15 to 30" minutes of complete destruction.
