An elderly man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an assault in Cork.
The attack happened at a car park in Sleaveen East, Macroom in the early hours of this morning.
A man in his 70s was assaulted and taken by Ambulance to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.
Gardai arrested a man in his 30s at the scene.
He's currently being held at Bandon Garda Station.
The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination will take place today.
Gardaí in Macroom are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact them.
