The Education Minister says schools will not be reopening next week.
They are currently closed until March 29th to help tackle the spread of coronavirus covid-19.
Minister Joe McHugh has told Galway Bay FM "Schools are closed up to the 29th, they won't be opening immediately after that".
He says we'll find out how long the schools will be closed for when the government announces a significant new block of restrictions later today.
Minister McHugh says that the main focus of his department now is having the state exams sit as normal on June 3rd.
