The Easter Bunny is being permitted to deliver Easter Eggs this weekend.
The news, which will come as a relief to thousands of Irish children, was announced by the Health Minister this morning.
🐰Great to receive confirmation this morning from @SimonHarrisTD that the Easter Bunny has been deemed an Essential Worker & is on track to deliver eggs across County Cork this weekend. He has of course been reminded to wash his hands regularly and maintain distancing as he works pic.twitter.com/xOz0ikvvLF

He says many children contacted him inquiring if this was the case.
Simon Harris confirmed that the country's top doctors have declared the Easter Bunny an essential worker.
Important news for children: Many of you contacted me & asked me to if the Easter Bunny was allowed work this weekend. I have checked with our top doctors & the good news is he can. But he has been contacted to remind him about washing his hands regularly & keeping his distance

This means the bunny will be allowed to leave his burrow to deliver sweets to the children of Ireland.
However, he has been told to wash his hands regularly and keep a safe distance when hopping to and from his deliveries.
