Dublin’s Nitelink will return when restrictions are eased on the night-time economy.
The late night bus service was shut in March 2020, when the pandemic arrived in Ireland.
It wasn’t due to be back operating on October 22nd when COVID-19 restrictions are scheduled to be eased.
Transport Minister Eamon Ryan said, "The restoration of Nitelink will provide public transport in Dublin on weekend nights into the early hours of the morning.

"While government still has to make a final decision on reopening after considering public health advice, we want to be ready to provide a service when the night-time economy reopens.”
"The Nitelink bus service is in addition to a number of 24-hour services which are already operating seven days a week.
"As we continue the roll out of BusConnects Dublin, we will introduce further 24 hour services which will complement this existing overnight offering.”
Yesterday the Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris said he'd look into getting it restarted.
He told reporters he would contact the Department of Transport on the issue, amid concerns for people returning home from nightclubs next week.
