An Applegreen service station in West Dublin has temporarily closed after a hungry rat was seen running along one of its deli counters.
The store in Cherry Orchard says it's fallen well below its operating standards.
Footage has emerged of a rat climbing out of a loaf of bread, before scuttling over plastic cutlery and running behind a toaster.
It has been widely shared online:

It shows the rodent climbing out of a loaf of bread, before scuttling over plastic cutlery and running behind a toaster.
Both the Food Safety Authority and HSE are investigating the matter.
Applegreen says customer health and safety is its first priority, and it's taking the issue extremely seriously.
