Dublin has been ranked as the city with the third most predictable weather in Europe, according to new research.
The study by Uswitch.com looked at the weather patterns of 35 European cities, with Valetta in Malta and Nicosia in Cyprus deemed more predictable.
It found it was easier to predict frosty days and cloud cover in Dublin.
Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather says some elements of the study would definitely hold true.
"In Dublin, we generally don't have changeable weather compared to Europe."
Sun rises over another cloudy day. Generally dry today but some patchy drizzle or light rain at rimes, mainly in the Northwest to start with but risk of it in other areas later. pic.twitter.com/LO08E6cTtJ

The forecaster says it would be interesting to see the west of Ireland included in the survey.
"The east coast is far more predictable and the number of rain days is far lower [than in the west]".
When wet days are forecasted in Dublin, 36% of the time they come to pass while sunshine duration is 54% accurate.
