An Irish institution could soon be wiped from our history, because one Dublin deli is scrapping breakfast rolls.
Fresh Good Food Market, which has five shops in the city, says it's replacing the popular roll with new sandwich and buffet options.
It says people’s foods habits are changing they want to reflect that.
Fresh is also phasing out chicken fillet rolls, in favour of grilled chicken breast on sourdough bread or in a baguette.
Sales and Marketing manager Shane Byrne denies that Fresh is getting 'notions'. 'No Fresh is not getting notions. I'm not saying that the breakfast roll man is dead, but we are seeing more 'protein plumbers' and 'quinoa carpenters' so people's food habits are changing and we're just getting ahead of that. So if you're hungover, maybe you should come in and get a nice super-food salad and get your day started again'.
Please don't take our jambons!
