Dublin's among the top 10 most liveable cities in the world for Europeans.
A new report from global consultants ECA International says the city offers superior living conditions for European expats.
That's due to improved infrastructure, personal safety and healthcare.
The ECA's annual Location Ratings survey places the capital's 'liveability' factor as one of the most desirable in Europe, and the world.
It's in joint ninth place with Gothenburg and Luxembourg for Europeans.
Dublin's also ranked 23rd place for Asians expats - ahead of many Asian locations such as Hong Kong, which is 41st.
The research also returns a general opinion that expats feel safer in Dublin after dark than many other cities.
Survey
480 locations around the world are evaluated annually by the system, which helps companies make decisions about employees travelling on international assignments.
Neil Ashman, Senior Location Ratings Analyst at ECA International, said: “Dublin has seen a return to the top ten after dropping out in 2017 due to a shortage of suitable housing for expatriates in the city.
"However, our research reveals a general opinion from the expat community that they feel safer in Dublin after dark, which has improved the city’s personal security score this year,”
According to ECA, cities in northern European and Scandinavian nations dominate the liveability rankings.
Expats in Copenhagen in Denmark and Bern in Switzerland experience the best liveability standards, the survey finds.
Meanwhile, both Switzerland and the Netherlands have three cities ranked in the top ten.
Elsewhere, Toronto in Canada is considered the most liveable location for European expats outside of Europe itself.
