Two people have been arrested after Gardaí intercepted a drone, which it's believed was about to fly drugs into Castlrea Prison in Co Roscommon.
Gardaí stopped and searched a car at Harristown, which is adjacent to the prison, at around 11.00am this morning.
Two mobile phones, a smartwatch, approximately 440 tablets and cannabis herb were seized - together with a drone.
Gardaí have said the drone was in the process of being set up.
A man (46) and woman (45) were arrested at the scene and are being held at Castlerea Garda Station.
The governor of Castlerea Prison, Martin Reilly, said: "The prison works closely with An Garda Síochána and we welcome their intervention and continued support in assisting the prevention of contraband entering our facility".
