Waiting times for driving tests should reduce later this year, according to a Junior Transport Minister.
Currently, the average wait time is 21 weeks, which is just over five months.
More testers are being recruited that the Government believes will reduce the waiting times to 10 weeks at the start of next year.
Minister Jack Chambers says they hope to speed up the recruitment process:
"75 testers are being recruited, and there'll be a three-month recruitment process and two months of training.
"So they'll be in place by October of this year, and we're hoping to even expedite that if possible.
"And we should see the waiting time start to reduce from then on."
