A driver is on the run after he drove into a Garda at speed in Dublin last night.
The incident happened at the Dundrum Town Centre at around 6:45pm.
It was at this time that Gardaí tried to stop a Blue Fiat Bravo Hatchback which is allegedly connected with a previous theft in the area.
However, the driver did not stop and fled the scene at speed.
The car hit a male Garda in the process and dragged him a considerable distance along the road.
He was brought to St Vincents Hospital for treatment on significant soft tissue injuries to his lower leg.
The car was later found by Gardaí at Kilcarrig Close in Tallaght.
The driver of the car is understood to be part of a crime group that were planning a theft in the area.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information about what happened to contact them.
