Donald J. Trump has announced he is running in the 2024 US Presidential Election.
It is Mr Trump’s third bid for the Presidency and if elected it would be his second term as Commander-in-Chief.
"We are a nation in decline,” he told supporters in Florida.
"For millions of Americans, the past two years under Joe Biden have been a time of pain, hardship, anxiety and despair."
He added that if returned to the White House he would “make America great and glorious again”.
Mr Trump faces stiff competition to be the Republican party’s nominee from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis - who was re-elected by a landslide last week.
Governor DeSantis is popular with the party base but has been nicknamed “DeSanctimonious” by Mr Trump who threatened to reveal "things about him that won't be very flattering - I know more about him than anybody - other than, perhaps, his wife".
When asked by a journalist whether he had any reaction to Mr Trump re-entering the political fray, incumbent President Joe Biden said, "No, not really.”
