The House of Representatives voted to impeach on both charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
Mr. Trump denies putting pressure on Ukraine to investigate a political rival, but Democrats think he should face a trial in the Senate.
Ultimately Mr. Trump has enough support in the Senate that he probably won't be removed from office.
