The Irish Medical Organisation is to hold a number of regional meetings to discuss LRC proposals aimed at resolving the dispute over working hours for junior doctors.
The union's accepted proposals put forward following crunch talks at the Labor Relations Commission last night and is recommending that its members accept the plans.
The recommendations set out that hospitals could face financial penalties if they allow any junior doctor to work more than 24 hours in a single shift and the HSE's agreed to eliminate the practice by the end of next year.
Spokesperson for the IMO, Eric Young, says their members will be balloted on the plans in the coming days.
