A doctor who specialises in intensive care medicine has appealed to teenagers not to engage in the so called "choking game".
One teenager is in a serious but stable condition at Temple Street Hospital after engaging in the potentially lethal practice.
Its believed that over 80 children in the US have died directly as a result of playing the choking game.
Its usually played by children aged between 11 and 16.
