The sounds of whales and dolphins have been recorded off the coast of Scotland for the first time.
The year-long study was carried out using underwater microphones located off the Hebrides, and in an area of ocean known as the continental shelf.
More than 12 terrabytes of data were gathered from 10 mics that were lowered to depths of between 60 to 175 metres.
Can you hear a resemblance to Van Halen's 1983 hit Jump?
The study will help promote conservation work and protect wildlife around marine energy schemes.
The research was carried out by Oban-based Scottish Association for Marine Science.
