The maker of Dettol say that "under no circumstances" should its products be injected into the human body.
RB says its disinfectant and hygiene products should only be used as intended.
It's after the US President suggested that tests should be carried out to see if COVID-19 patients could be cured by injecting them with disinfectant.
Donald Trump said "and then I see the disinfectant, it knocks it out in a minute, one minute and is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or or almost a cleaning, 'cause you see it gets on the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs."
The maker of Dettol Rb has said that "due to recent speculation and social media activity" it has been asked whether internal administration of disinfectants may be appropriate for investigation or use as a treatment for coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).
It says "we must be clear that under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route). As with all products, our disinfectant and hygiene products should only be used as intended and in line with usage guidelines."
