The Department of Finance has admitted that key documents relating to the banking crisis have gone missing.
The Department says two out of eight key documents concerning the Bank Guarantee cannot be located.
They include correspondence between the Bank of Ireland Governor Richard Burrows and the tax adviser for the Jupiter group, Noel Corcoran.
Jupiter was trying to buy Bank of Ireland at the time.
