Staff at the Department of Health's Baggot Street offices in Dublin have been sent home for the day.
The building was evacuated after a suspicious package was sent to the Health Minister this morning.
An envelope containing suspicious material was discovered and the offices were evacuated at around 11:30 this morning.
We have been informed by emergency services that our office building will not be reopened for some time. All staff should now go home today and monitor this account for further updates.

Emergency services have told Department officials that the building will not be reopened for some time.
No one will given access to any part of the building, including the car park and bike hall.
Members of Dublin Fire Brigades Hazardous Materials unit and the Army Bomb Disposal Unit remain at the scene.
