Gardai have launched an investigation after a motorist drove through the barriers of a level crossing in Roscommon this morning.
The red van, which was hitched with a trailer, smashed through the barrier at Knockroghery.

The incident led to knock-on delays for all train services running to and from Westport.
The damage has been repaired and services are now running as scheduled.
Meanwhile, Irish Rail is urging motorists to obey signals at level-crossings after this morning's incident.
