Decisions on an eviction ban will happen this week.
The coalition party leaders meet tonight to discuss how it and the concrete blocks levy might affect the housing market.
The Attorney General has been examining whether it would be legal for the Government to reintroduce a ban on evictions for the winter months.
Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien says they have to be careful not to force more landlords out of the market:
"We've obviously got to be very conscious of any measure we take don't have any unintended consequences."
That measure could go to Cabinet tomorrow
Later this week we'll know the future of the concrete block levy when Paschal Donohoe outlines the Finance Bill on Thursday.
Amid speculation it could be scrapped, Minister Charlie McConalogue says they're still examining how to implement it
"Obviously on how that is structured it's important we look at how to minimise the impact on people while ensuring the industry itself makes a contribution."
The levy may increase the cost of building a home and is being heavily protested by the construction sector
