The US and Russia have agreed on a plan for Syria, that requires the President to give a comprehensive list of his chemical weapons within a week.
The US Secretary of State John Kerry says actions matter more than words, and he expects full compliance by Bashar al-Assad, who needs to live up to his public commitments.
The two sides aim to have inspectors on the ground in Syria by November, and to remove all chemical arms from the country by mid-2014.
John Kerry says the two sides agreed that all chemical weapons should be destroyed.
