Senator David Norris has withdrawn his controversial remarks over the Fine Gael TD Regina Doherty.
Senator Norris made headlines yesterday after condemning the deputy for what he said was a slur against the Seanad.
His comments prompted a formal complaint from Deputy Doherty who said the comments were sexist.
