Customs officers at Cork Airport yesterday seized €48,000 in cash after stopping a foreign national who was boarding a flight to Amsterdam.
The money was found in the traveller's carry-on luggage.
Customs officers were today granted a three month detention order over the cash by Judge Olan Kelleher.
Investigations are continuing.
