Latest data also shows that 7,355 people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal yesterday.
This brings today's case total to 9,070.
Based on this data, the five-day moving average of cases has risen to 8,046.
And as of 8.00am, 829 patients were hospitalised with the virus - of whom 51 were in ICU.
