5,940 new PCR-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Ireland today, along with 6,620 positive antigen tests reported to the HSE.

Today's new cases have seen the five-day moving average of new cases increase to 9,850.
This morning, there were 630 patients with the virus in Irish hospitals, compared to 624 yesterday.
However, the number of patients in intensive care has fallen from 66 to 65 over the past 24 hours.
Today's figures come after Dr Tony Holohan told an Oireachtas committee that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over, and there will be an 'ongoing need' for some public health measures.
However, the Chief Medical Officer also said the current situation is 'broadly positive' and that it is safe for people to return to normal activities.
