The President of the High Court is examining allegations that a Circuit Court judge tried to interfere in a family law case.
Both Justice Nicholas Kearns and the President of the Circuit Court, Justice Raymond Groarke, are investigating the claims.
It was reported yesterday that a judge in a family law case at the High Court had been approached by a colleague from the Circuit Court, with questions about an ongoing case.
In his ruling the High Court judge criticised what he called the "improper" conduct of his colleague for alleged interference in the case.
This morning the former Fianna Fáil minister Mary O'Rourke identified herself as the TD who had originally raised concerns about the case, revealed in yesterday's Sunday Times.
However she insisted she had no role in making representations to any circuit court judge about the case, and said she did not know an unnamed judge had ended up making alleged representations to a High Court colleague.
