Rents have hit an all-time high with a chronic shortage of properties to blame.
The latest Daft.ie report shows that only 716 homes were available to rent in the entire country on the 1st of August, just 292 of those were in Dublin, the lowest ever on record.
Rents rose by 12.6% between April and June, to a national average of €1,618 per month. The average rent in Dublin is now at €2,170.
It's the highest price rise since the property website first began compiling records 16 years ago.
The cost of renting is now 60% higher compared to Celtic Tiger levels, and around 110% higher than 2012 prices.
