There have been 85 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the Republic.
One more death has also been reported today.
The number of new cases reported today is the highest number of new daily cases since late May.
Today's numbers bring the total number of cases to 26,027, while the number of deaths now stands at 1,763.
Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn said 26 of the new cases were in Co Kildare, with 18 in Dublin, 11 in Clare, nine in Laois and seven in Limerick.
He said: "At least half of the cases today are associated with known outbreaks. 39% are known to be close contacts of confirmed cases.
"At least 18 [of the cases] are associated with a cluster in a factory in Kildare. This factory has been closed since last Friday, and an outbreak control team is in place.
"This outbreak has now also been associated with clusters in direct provision centres."
Earlier, HSE boss Paul Reid said the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in hospital had fallen to six - down from a peak of 879.
Four COVID patients are being treated in the country's intensive care units.
