Tomorrow's Liffey Swim is going ahead despite concerns about the water qaulity.
Hundreds of swimmers are set to take part in the 100th anniversary of the annual swim.
Results of samples taken on Wednesday and Thursday show the quality is "exceptionally poor" and well below the standards for bathing areas.
It follows a sewage overflow in the Knockmaroon area, which has now been fixed.
Organisers Leinster Open Sea have said the event will go ahead:
Dublin City Council has notified the HSE and event organisers and say it's hoped the river will be safe to swim in by tomorrow.
The HSE has advised those planning on taking part in the event that "Swimming and other water based activates in this water may cause illness."
They're recommending people "Avoid swallowing or splashing water as much as possible".
