College students will return to on-campus learning from September.
In the new academic year, labs, tutorials, classroom-based teaching, and smaller lectures will return.
The Department of Higher Education has published a report on the return to third-level education this afternoon.
It says that due to the success of the vaccine rollout 'it is expected that a full return to on-site activity is feasible.'

The report also states that it is expected that the majority of the people over 18 in Ireland will have been vaccinated by September.
As a result, the Department says larger lectures can happen within limits from September.
However, the capacity of very large lecture halls may have to be reduced.
The Department of Higher Education says the following will be allowed on-campus from September:
- laboratory teaching and learning
- classroom-based teaching and learning
- tutorials
- workshops
- smaller lectures
- research
- workspaces
- libraries
- canteens
- sports facilities
- clubs and societies
- bars
